Ignition switch no werky
HELP ive got a 90 f150 supercab, tilt wheel, 300 6, 2 wheel drive
ok when i bought this truck they had a push button in the dash to start it, turn the key on and push the button, before i tear into this thing is there a common problem with these trucks ? this is my first ford, so im not to update on um.
any help would really be appreciated.

Yes, there is a common problem with the actuator bar that goes from the lock cylinder to the actual ignition switch mounted on the top of the ignition column.
When I bought my '88, it also had been "fixed" with a push button for the ignition.
I assumed it was just a bad ignition switch and proceeded to replace it. Turned out to be the mechanism for the actuator rod that was broken.
you can find the replacement part at some of the dealers, but it is pretty involved to replace it.
I ended up buying a universal replacement key switch and installing it on the dash in the blank area to the right of the coin holder.
There have been quite a few posts on here about the same problem. Do a search.
