Power steering help
PIC IN GALLERY...can someone help please
Talk to former owner yesterday and he wasn't aware of leak...replaced recently here locally...warranty probably worthless after sale of truck and besides shop is on the other side of Va.Beach...if easy fix have access to many tools...can make trip to said shop if necessary
Many Thanks in advance for any help with this.
the original hose has a two inch sleeve on it looks like some kind of emergency repair. wouldn't hold the leak on its own so i cleaned it all again, coated it all over with LePage#5 glue and put the pitch over again twisting it around to make sure the glue got all in there. glue's supposed to be good for rubber and stands up to heat. gonna let it set tonight and see if it'll hold some fluid tomorrow
i also bought two feet of straight hose at 3$ a foot. if the patch doesn't hold i'll cut out the whole rubber line, save the flared ends of the metal lines, put the straight hose in over the flared ends with some hose clamps and see if that holds
but ideally i'm looking for someone who makes a nice coupling to connect a steel line to a 3/8" rubber hose. anyone who knows about this please give me a shout.
