I have a 1999 Expedition XLT and have the am/fm cassette w/ CD controls radio........but no CD player........Can i get a 6 disc changer to work with this? Is it a plug and play setup??? thanks!
Yes, you should have a lead off the back of the system for a CD changer. If you have a center council, its probably is under the top piece. There are two Torx 15 screws, one under the rubber mat in the main tray, the other under the council lid just ahead of the latch. After removing them, the piece pops out with a little effort, it has fixed guides that just pull out. The lead should be a black wrapped wire about 1/4 inch and with a square plug end. I have one if your interested, its a 6 pack, should plug right up to it. I had mine in my center council. I upgraded the stereo and it has a cd player in it.

Rick, you can not control 'aftermarket' CD Changes with the OEM head unit . . . I do still have my old OEM six disk CD changer, drop me an e-mail if you are interested
I pulled my console apart and couldn't locate the wire/plug that would go to the cd changer. I see a large gray plug that is bolted to another plug.......it looks like it plugs only into the rear radio buttons. any suggestions? Where can I get a plug/wire harness that would work? thanks!
PS...I couldnt email either of u because my account is to new.....send me a private message and let me know what u guys want for the OEM cd changers...thanks!
