Question bad mid-high torque

I occasionally pull trailer's. I did this weekend a 16 footer down about 120
miles from my house, and a small not very heavy welding trailer back(today)
My truck sucks! i'VE seen chevrolet 1500's with a 5.3 litre pull a hell of a
lot better than my truck. And I have a 3/4 sd powerstroke 4r100 3.73's &
a power module, oh & its a 99 model. It does fairly good at lower speeds
but after about 45 I guess, it act's like its bogging the engine. And trying
to keep your speed at 65-70 is real hard. unless it's extremely flat and level.
And really it has trouble going up hills unloaded with the module. The funny
thing is I get good mileage, truck starts fine, doesnt smoke unless you dog it,
And it idles smoothly.

Not knowing any of the specifics about your truck, I've got to ask: Do you have a catalytic convertor on it? If so, it's probably plugged, and restricting airflow.

First hand knowledge: do the fuel tank mod like this: http://community.webshots.com/photo/...32304537sZLVfG
It made such a world of difference on my truck I feel that I need to evangelize it! The power and quietness are unbelieveable until actually experienced.

nope, my truck fortunately doesn't have a cat converter. Yes I believe I'll give that
a try.

I cant imagine how your truck in the proper state of tune with your mods can run so badly???? Check your boost, make sure you are getting any or the correct amount. I would venture to say that you are having turbo, or intercooler or intercooler hose problems which i would tend to think would rob your mid to upper range power where you NEED boost. How much weight are we talking about on the trailer??
