elec. fan switch

I just picked up a new 16. elec. fan for my truck. pulls 3300 cfm. I do not want to power it off a manual switch if i do not have to. The only places to put a thermo. switch are either on the top of the intake, but that is where my dash sensor is, or at the front of the intake, which is where my ecm sensor is. Does anyone have any ideas where i could put the termo switch?

I also did the maf converstion,(using a mustang ECM) and i have heard that there is a pin on the ecm that will turn on a elec. fan relay.... has anyone heard of that? if so what pin # is it?

thanks
kyle

Buy a Hayden adjustable fan controller with the temp sending unit that plugs in between the fins on the radiator. I've got two of them and they work great on my dual fan setup. You should be able to get one for about 30 bucks, also you will need a 30 amp relay wired in between the controller and the fan.

I don't think it would really matter which part of the intake you put it in as the temps won't be that different. Alot of OEM (non-Ford) switches are either in the intake or the radiator, and in fact they could change location from one year to the other. If it was me I'd put it as close to water outlet as possible. BTW, you are using a relay, right?

Which mustang ECU are you running? I'm not aware of an output on the A9L family.

The Flex-A-Lite VSC would work well also. It spools the fan(s) up slowly so it's easy on the electrical system. The temp trigger setting is adjustable, it can be operated manually and also come on when the A/C is running. No relays required, just need a 30 amp CB'er and one of their temp sensors and you're set.
