Exhaust tips / suggestions for 92 4.0L
Hey fellas, I am starting to ponder the idea of replacing the exhaust system on my 92 explorer 4door (137k miles).
Looking under the hood, i see big, rusty, ugly looking exhaust manifolds that I would like to replace.
Question: Would headers be street legal?
I would also replace the cat converter and the rest of the exhaust system as well. The cat converter is original and I am guessing it is on its last leg. While I am down there, I will probably replace the 02 sensors as well.
I have found a BBK header and Y pipe for 4.0L exp that I am interested in. I also saw a nice Flowmaster Force II 50 series kit as well.
All I need to do is find a good hi-flo cat. Anyone have any suggestions?
Also, if anyone has attemped this complete exhaust system upgrade on this model explorer, I would really appreciate it if you could share some tips and comments regarding your installation experience with me.
Great website!!
Thanks all for your help
