Hi, my 89 Bronco needs a new neutral safety switch. (no volts out to to starter relay with key to start) It has a 351W, C6 trans and a manual shift transfer case. The switch in mine has a single 6 pin connector. When I went to Autozone they only show a 4 pin round connector that is obviously not what I need. The only ID on mine is the Ford logo and a 6DA on the casting. What should I ask for to get the right one? (the counter guys are not very "swift")
Thank you
Pam

yes, you need to get correct Neutral safety switch. I had to deal with 3 different Parts Counter person [ aftermarket ] until I gave up and bought from Ford dealer.[ expensive ]
The Ford parts counter guys at first were going to walk back to the stock room until he looked at that connector. He had to look it up to find out what it was.
It was $110 expensive, but at least I have it and do not need to use a screwdriver to jump the starter relay any more.
Thank you
Pam
I had same problem w/"slow" parts people.I just cut the plug off the bad switch+spliced it to the harness.Works perfect.Truck will start in any gear,so get in habit of making sure it`s in park.I`ve had it wired like this for 3 years+no problems.I also had to remove reverse light bulbs because they stayed on after wire splice.
