Front Leafs..

Tonight, I parked next to a 75 250 XLT, with 33's. I have 31s there was at least a 5 or 6 inch diff in heighth, so I hopped out, and took a gander at his front and rear ends. The leafs in front were just slightly above the point of being level, straight across. mine, on the other hand are sagging , the eyelets probably sag an inch, to an inch and a half below the axle. This is probably due to the previous original owner keeping an overhead camper on this truck for 17 years I'd imagine. I'm lifting this truck 6" in three Years, and I'm putting 35's on it then. I just ordered 33's yesterday, to get away from this low look of what I thought was from the 31's. Now my question is.... What is the cheapest means of getting some stock LEVEL front Springs?? I cant stand knowing my truck is getting tired, and this situations gotta get fixed before I throw the new tread on, I wont be able to sleep at night now. Thanks~ Hardball..

what year is your truck ? if it is a high-boy any spring shop can re-arch the springs , my buddy paid 125 to have them pushed 3 inches. if it is a 78-79 you can either go 2 ways have them pushed 4 inces or just buy new high-boy springs (73-77.5 F-250 4x4 front springs are 3 or 4 inchs higher then 78-79 springs)

Yeah, I have a 79, but I dont see why the springs would come any lower from the factory, the seventy fives undercarriage is completely identical to mine, mine just sagged. Do I have to remove the springs, or you think I can just drop the whole truck off? and dont the springs fall quick after you re-arch them??

It would be cheaper to drop the springs off but i am sure they will do it if you take the whole truck in.As far as the springs falling the ones we had done have lasted 2 years so far and he muds the truck here and there but that is just our experience with having them re-arched i have heard the same things about them falling also.the 75 should have had more springs in the pack because they ride 3-4 inches higher from the factory. The last thing is have a set made there is a place called Alcan spring that will make what ever size ya need we have bought 2 sets off them and are very pleased with there work ....but if ya are broke as me and really need a fast fix to make it look better i hate to say it but i have seen trucks running front lift blocks i my self would not do it cause i beat my truck to death but a it is a bandaid .....

If you ever head down to So-cal, I have the original springss from my 73 '250 highboy 4x4. The truck sat perfectly level from front to back and side to side. The front springs still even had a tiny bit of arch to them, but it was only holding up a 360, manual steering, no air and a single battery. The front springs are 3" wide with 6 leafs and the rear are 2-1/4" with 9 leafs. They were taken off the truck about a month ago for new skyjacker 4" lift leafs.

$40 for the front, $40 for the rear or $70 for both.

Skyjacker lift

Amtek or others w/skyjacker kit on highboy,

What is your ride like with the new skyjacker springs? I haven't decided whether to go with the 2 in or 4 in. If you were to put one tire way up in the air(on a rock). What size tire could you fit at full articulation. I want to use 35x12.50x16.5 tires and I want to know if the four inch would be overkill or if it looks proportional.

Your truck is significantly lower from the factory than a '75 F-250 4x4. That year of truck is called a highboy - for a reason. They came with a factory four inch lift. Starting in 77.5, they went back to the lowered height for F-250 4x4's.

Look in the picture galleries here and compare the 4x4's of that era with the 4x2's. There is a substantial difference.
