57 Dash Gauge Problems

My fuel and temp gauges always read over the F anf H. I read that the voltage regulator could be at fault - where is it? Don't see it.

Hi,

Try connecting a test light in series with the fuel sender. It should blink with the key on. If it doesn't, then the IVR (Instrument Voltage Regulator) is faulty. It should be on the back of your instrument cluster. IIRC, it's a small "box" maybe 1/2' by 1" with 2 studs. If you need more help, let me know and I'll check the shop manual.

Unhappy

Capt.

It could also mean the either the Gauges or Sending units have gone bad or you've developed a Short in your wiring harness.
