Another reason they would charge more is to maintain the warranty on the vehicle carrying an extra 1000 lbs.

You are correct about the gear ratios with the F250, but what I was saying it that with the PSD you can only get the 3.73. Same in the F350 unless you buy a dually.
my apologies, the F350 chassis cab dually has 4.88 gears, while the F350 pickup dually has 4.56 gears. The F450-550 has the 5.38s. anywho, i have no way to scan my original sticker, but the HD trailer towing package came with the 4" block, but the GVWR is the same 8800 lbs as a $190 option. im not sure what else came with the trailer tow package? the receiver hitch maybe?

The lowest gear ratio available with the F350 pickup is the 4.10 gears with the diesel option or 4.30 with the V10. The 4.56 is not available in an F350 pickup.

Trailer/tow packages *usually* come with any combination of: the receiver/hitch, wiring harnesses, larger trans cooler and larger radiator.
