Transfer case?

Howdy! My mechanic is telling me that I may need to replace my transfer case. I've got a '96 Bronco 5.8. There seems to be some play in my drive train somewhere and I've been hearing some squealing from the T case and a THUNK when I start/stop. I've replaced motor mounts, front springs, shocks, radius arm bushings. This has helped tighten things up but there is still some movement. My mechanic dosen't see a lot of 4WD vehicles in his shop. Can I get the Tcase repaired? Or should it be replaced? Should I go rebuilt? Thanks mucho!

My 95 XLT was "Thunking" whenever I would start and stop untill I saw a post on here about it. Take the driveshaft off and grease the slip joint. After I did that it the Thunking was gone!

U-Joints, I think the T-case is direct to the rear shaft. U should have 3 rear joints, plus a "CV" joint. Inside of the housing for the forward U-joints, on the rear shaft, there is a little Ball bearing looking thing, that is prob shot. Only NAPA carrys these *****. Part # 615.
