Not the sharpest tool in the shed.
Not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Consternation:
Well, wouldn't that just rot your socks!? (family expression on my mom's side).

I always thought that, 'don't look a gift horse in the mouth' was a reference to the Trojan horse? Something I always thought when I was younger, and never really thought about since.
