Air Induction Systems

I'm aware that this topic has probably been touched on many times before, but I wanted to get some feedback from those who have purchased and used an after-market air intake system for their Explorer. Is there a noticeable difference between the new intake vs. the factory setup? I'm eyeing a MAC intake for my 97 and just wanted to know if it was worth it.

I just installed a MAC intake on my '99 V8 this weekend. Very simple to install and seems to be well thought out and manufactured. Haven't had much time to evaluate but the seat of pants dyno tells me if helps. Of course, this may be just wishful thinking. I plan on installing a better exhaust, new chip and shift kit in the near future. I bought mine here - www.mothorhaven.com

Yeah i have one on my 1998 V8 and it sounds awesome and has a lil noticeable power gain, but very little. Worth it if you ask me!

i have a K&N FIPK intake on my 00 explorer v6. for the v6 its definitely worth it as you need as much extra power as you can get. i need it for overtaking. as i drove to south carolina last week i passed 10 or 11 cars flooring it down the passing lane.
