New bed on '48?
I bought a '48 for it's bed to use on my '42, the cab, etc, is in pretty good shape on the '48, and was thinking of using a newer Ford bed on it.
Has anyone done this?...anyone know if the beds make a decent fit...I really like the bedsides on the newer Ford (stylesides)
I've seen newer Chevy beds on the '55-59 Chevy PU's and they make a pretty good fit, but am unsure on the Fords

When I bought my 48 F1, it had a later model bed on it (not bolted down). A 56 ... model bed with the block letters FORD on the tailgate. I am not planning on using it, but I did notice it would need a little modification to fit. The existing bolts holes on the bed do not line up with the frame bolt holes. The fenders meet the running boards before the bed is all the way forward. I would guess it would work, but would require minor modifications.
