Goin Saturday to a junkyard down in Fontana, Kansas to look for......
A D44!!! Yes, that's right, Slider will be getting a new front end, one that flexes and where's bigger shoes. (that is, if I can find one in decent shape) Then, after that, its all in preping the axle, then finidng somebody to help me get to fabbing (hint, hint)
Hey Ryan, can you do me a favor, if you see a Super duty there with the extended factory mirrors witht the built in turn signals, call me at (913) 568-4440 let me know how much I'll make it worth your while for your effort.....
Good luck. I hope you find what your looking for at the yard. I still can't find my front end grill surround anywhere...so I know how the looking around can get frustrating.

I can guarentee you that they won't have any 04 Super Duties at the yard.
Thanks guys, I'm hoping to get REALLY lucky and find a 9" rear too get them both, and get twice the strength at both ends.

Hey Ryan, If you don't have luck finding the D44 solid, let me know. I know a guy that had one he will sell for $400 for the axle and all the brackets you need.
My buddy has one that I'm sure he will let go for $250. It is all apart and was getting ready to install it in my buddy's '86 F-250, But I'm sure he'd part with it.
I got one!! I got it for a GREAT price too.. but here's my mistake.... got it home and THEN I relaized that it had vacuum disconnect on it... for all you wheelin guys, Can I somehow bypass this system by just using a single axle shaft for that side?
Ryan, I did a little research and couldn't find anything on bypasing the vac. disconect. Best I could find is a kit that converts it to a cable operated unit, if it was reliable I would think cable would be the way to go. Just a thought
Thanks Duane... I've been talkin to some people, and I think I may be able to replace the stub shafts on the vac. disco. side to a one piece shaft of the same length.... gotta do some measuring still though
