Electric Seat Woun't Work
I have a '93 Explorer XLT and when i try to raise or lower the rear of the seat the motor will come on and but the seat will not move. The front mechanism works fine. The seat will also move forward and back normally. when i hit the the button just to activae the rear lifting motor it will come on but the sdeat will not move. when the motor come on it sounds like there is no load on the motor.
Please help.

already tried squitry wd-40 on the worm gear. the when you run the motor in either direction it has the pitch as if you are sitting in the seat and are lowering the seat. The motor has no load on it when i turn it on in either direction.

It is very possible your motor is just too weak to do the job anymore.
I had both up/down motors rebuilt on a 97 E350. They would just make a small thump but would never move the seat. Then when I put them back in I greased the track well.

I was trying to figure out what was wrong with the motor and i thought since the motor is running and the seat is not moving that mabey the driveshaft was broken, but when i used a screwdriver as a stethascope and put the scredriver up to the drive shaft i could still hear and feal the motor running. So i am back to square one. Anyone else have any ideas to what is going wrongbecause i am back to being clueless.
