Cool enhanced headlight bulbs

I have been driving my Escape 2001 for awhile and feel that the lights are not as bright as they should be.

Is there any recommendation regarding aftermarket bulbs to change the original ones, such as xenon type or hid? I am aware of several brands such as Raybrig or PIAA, which seem to be a good choice.

I will appreciate any comments on this subject.

Regards, buzo-ech

You will be very pleased with the Sylvania Silverstar bulbs. The are vastly better than stock and, when compared side by side, they will make the stock bulbs look yellow. They are pricey [$20 a piece], but much cheaper than Piaa.

I second the SilverStars. I drive a lot of rural roads at night, and I feel that I have just about the same distance with SilverStar lowbeams then with stock highbeams. The Silverstar highbeams are nice and clear (good for seeing Bambi on the road and not on your grille)

I got some Silverstar knockoffs at Autozone. APC Ultra Whites. They do a good job of lighting up the road too.

Watch out for those APC, and other higher wattage bulbs, they can fry your wiring harness.

The APC Ultra Whites are standard DOT 60/55 wattage, so no worry there. They burn a lot whiter than standard bulbs, but don't have a blue tinge.
