Red face 1950 4 speed woes

I can shift into 1st and 2nd but not the rest including reverse, might have just found why Patches was parked. From the manual it looks like I can take the top cover off the transmission and see inside. Is this correct? Maybe a shifter fork is bent. I have no first hand experience just looking at diagrams. I have to get the breaks working before I can take him around the block and see if I can loosen anything up that me be stuck.

That's all you have to do. Just remember to get the forks in the right groove when you put it back together. How long did the truck sit/ I've seen those tranny's gears rust to the shaft since they haven't been used.

I have no idea the plates were last dated 1973. I will find out about the rust I am going to check the fluid level top off as needed and see if the gears loosen up with a little movement. With only first and second it could be a long trip around the block even. Are there any ID plates or numbers to ID the transmission.

You have a Warner 4spd spur gear tranny. It's like a T-18 or T-19 I can't remember. You have to double clutch through every gear. Heres a LINK that shows you how to shift your tranny.
