97 4x4/4x4low lights flashing
I have a 97 XLT with elec. shift 4x4. The 4x4 indicator light and the 4x4 LOW light flash 6 times with approx. 1/2 sec in between flashes. They go out and then the cycle repeats a minute or so later. It has done this before and would come on a few times and then stop for a few days or even months.
I took it to FORD and they said a code registered that the front wheel speed sensor was bad. I replaced it with a sensor from a used transfer case and it seemed to correct the problem for about 6 months. Now it's back again.
Has this happened to anyone else? I don't want to pay for another scan or a new sensor if it's maybe not the problem
