Dual Alternators

I have an f350 Chassis 1 ton 03 6.0 PSD. I just traded my F250 7.3 so I'm in withdraw. Anyway, I read about the dual alternators. This new truck is a chassis so I have a good solid one ton with a flatbed on the back and a plow on the front. My Questions is...Can the dual alternator package be installed from the dealer? About how much? Is there a benefit considering I will be pushing some snow with it? My F250 did not have any dual alternators but I did have to replace both batteries in the early spring.

It may be cheaper to get a high output single alternator to replace yours. Check out mean-green.com or highoutputalternator.com. The benefit to high output or dual alternators is the their ability maintain voltage under heavy (amps) draw conditions, ie. running aux lights, winch, trailer/camper etc. Hope this helps!
