Ok, this is driving me crazy. My rear ABS light is always on. I've installed new shoes, bled the brakes, installed a new speed sensor in the differential, made sure my rear lights all work, and nothing. This light went off for about 3 days after replacing the sensor, but now it's back on. What is causing this? Btw, it's a 91 3.0 2wd extra long beast with towing package.
Have you checked the brake fluid pressure switch. It is mounted either in or under the master cylinder. You can search this forum for stuff on it. Look for the two wires either on the master or the block below it.

Did you pull the codes on the ABS? The light is trying to tell you that there is a stored code with the ABS. I would do that before replacing any more parts.
is that something i can have done at autozone? i don't have a code reader.
Yes Autozone can pull the codes for the ABS, Be sure to have something to write the numbers down. DO NOT TAKE THEIR ADVICE! The sales person will try to sell you something that you might not need. Post the numbers here. While you are at it, you might as well do a KOEO, KOER, and engine balance test. Just to make sure everything else is running ok.
Most the time you need to blowout where the sencer is screwed in. Mine had a little "Speck" that was stuck up in there. I cleaned it out and used a can of compressed air and it went away.
M the first thing you need to do is to pull the codes from the ABS module. Somewhere in here is instructions for doing that. I'm sure you'll find them with a search.
I dont think this is one that Autozone can help with.
Basically you find the self test connector and ground it. The light will then flash out a code.
I dont have an older Aerostar manual here so I'm not sure where the connector is. Maybe someone else here can tell you.
i did unplug the sensor from the master cylinder and clean it with electrical parts cleaner, if someone could let me know how to pull the code myself, it would be greatly appreciated
