I noticed on my 86 bronco, all of my lug nuts are the same except for one on each wheel. It looks like I need a special tool to remove them. Is that so? Whats it called? Where could I get one?. Thanks!
Ahh those are the locking lug nuts...fun fun fun if you don't have the correct -key- for it.
I believe that any tire shop can get those off for you...just take it down to the tire shop and ask if they can remove just those lugnuts and then drive that thing home and take the rest off of it. On your way home stop by AutoZone and pick up a pack of lugnuts to replace those locking ones...
Actually my craftsman socket is still usable, a little beat up but it did take 4 or those lock type lugs off. I think the warranty would be void if I was to try and get it replaced. But what would that cost? 6 bucks for a socket?? Well worth it, garage would charge you 30.00 to 50.00 bucks to do the same.
Even with hammer marks on it? Dam I don't know if I'd have the nerve to walk into sears with an abused socket! Might have me arrested for abusing a craftsman tool!
Yea you should be arrested! But then again...hehe I have done the same. I have a 6in extension for my sockets that I have used to help remove and install ujoints. Worthless as an extension but still good for other stuff.
