I have a 1988 Ford Ranger truck in excellant condition. It has 145,000 miles and runs good. I have had a lot of trouble with the carburator when it is wet out or before the 200 CU egine warms up. The automatic coke is not compesating properly for the different weather conditions. I have rebult the carburator but still have the same problem. Do they make a trottle body carburator to fit the 200 cu four cylinder egine? Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum.
The first thing that I would check is to make sure that the warm air intake part of the air cleaner is operating properly. This will cause the carb to want to ice up and run bad in cooler weather when it's cool out.
I do not know of any stand alone TBI units for your truck. I am assuming that it is a 2000cc 2.0L engine?
Thanks Jimmy for the advice regarding my Caruretors problems that I've have been having with my 1988 Ranger 2.0L. I checked the warm air intake components and they are working ok. When the weather is cold, I do not seem to have any problems with my truck running good. The choke stays on long enough for the engine to warm up. When the weather is warm or wet, the choke does not stay on long enough for the engine to warm up and run properly. I have set the automatic choke spring about as "rich" as i can and it still opens up before the engine has a chance to properly warms up. Mabe I will have to resort to a hand choke (bad news)?.......I've also toyed with the idea with droping a 2.3 fuel injected engine in my truck. I've installed engines before, my biggest probelm would be if there would be any major wiring prolbems. I want to keep my 88 Ranger because the body is in mint condition.
