As some may remember....or not. I lost a turbo in the middle of Nevada while towing my TT. (I live in NW WA) Great fun let me tell you. Anyway, had about 4K on the clock then. now we are approaching 8K...guess what. I think Im losing another. Wont spin up on accel and DUMPS black smoke. For all the accolades people sing about this truck, Im sure getting mad at it. If I could I would drop the hammer and blow the motor. Anyway, just venting. 08/03 Build. 03 motor.

I understand being upset...however you know the rules NO **** it is masking profanity.
I know it was a slip and will not happen again
I appreciate your support…….hang in there with your truck
Notice how the same gloom and doomers always show up to put in their negative 2 cents worth. Never any positive ideas or encouragement. It must be horrible to live with a mind like that.
OK. A little bit, but Ford did say that the problems in the early '03s were all fixed by production changes made in early May '03, and that units built after then should not have any of those problems.

My bad. Sorry bout that.
The first one, sure, Ill chalk it up to bad luck. And towing back from NV I was happy....but now? Ack. Its hard shelling that kind of coin to have two major failures in 8K.
Stepdad bought a F350 the same day. O4/O4. No problem as of yet. Basically the same mileage as we camp together.
JMac24, I flew home from California to buy my truck in Tx.,but I live in N.LA.,anyway, took it on the road back to Cal.,blew the turbo just outside Flagstaff,AZ.,with about 1500 miles on it,On a SUNDAY,no less.Got towed to local Ford dealer, got fixed in two days.Leaking #8 injector ,got over 7qts diesel fuel in my oil, blew the turbo.Ford would only replace the bad #8,along with the turbo, but still have seven more of those early '03(1-3-03 engine build) injectors in there.I got a district rep here in La. to come to a local dealer to look at my truck, he told me there was a problem with the installation of these injectors,(even though Ford changed the design),and that the O-rings were pinched or something on installation. He told me that if I haven't had any more problems yet, then odds are I won't have any more failures. So I ask him what about the oil dilution problem, how about part damage from the highly diluted oil when that injector blew? Couldn't get a straight answer on that one.I got the Oct.reflash on that visit, and it solved my surging problems, but I wasn't too happy with the louder noise level, because I could not hear my motor running before, while driving down the road, even pulling my bass boat. That was one of the reasons I bought it in the first place.I lost about 1.5-2 mpg too, but still getting about 17 overall, not bad considering what I've read lately. But my truck runs great,it flat stomped a D-max,and humiliated a Cummins.I'm looking at Predator now,and a air intake, just can't make up my mind.Need to research some more on that one. 2003 F-250 6.0 Lariat,auto,CC,FX4,3.73 LS,regular bed, camper pkg.,loaded.Engine build 1-3-03 Indianapolis.
