Yes and Yes. I've done it. Edelbrock has a kit for it. Get an extra carb to manifold gasket, pull the carb off and work on it on a bench. Takes about 30 min and the instructions with the kit are good. It's worked really well since I installed it. I have yet to see an aftermarket manual choke that worked worth a darn. The cable always flexes so much the choke doesn't actuate properly.
