I'm having transmission problems with my '92 E4OD... :shrug I ultimately may have to have it rebuilt (heavy duty). This is going to be rather expensive, of course...
Anyways, I'm aware of the ZF 5 speed conversion that's possible with the '66-'77 Broncos (I have a '74 also :thumbup ), but I was wondering, does anyone know of, or how to convert one into a '92-'96 Bronco? I understand that they are commonly found in the same year F-150's. Also, my '92 has the 5.0L.
I've looked into this a little myself, and the general consensus seems to be find a complete donor vehicle to make sure you have all the needed brackets, fittings, etc. Also, I think the ZF was used in the F250 and F350, and the 5 speed used in the F150 was a Mazda built lighter duty unit. There may also be some computer issues involved also which would require some rewiring or computer changes.
