Turn Signal wiring problems

In my 76 F-100, the left turn signal light in the gauges is on when you turn on the lights and the rectangular light above the headlight is off. On the passenger side the rectangular light is on and the turn signal light in the dash is off like its supposed to be. Is the turn signal switch just wired backwards on the left side?

What you describe sounds like a short in the turn signal switch???
Do the signals work properly otherwise?
Let's see what the others have to say.

The signals all work when turned on, but the driver side rectangular light in the front doesn't come on when the lights are turned on but the left turn signal indicator inside comes on. Should I just buy a new one or get one from the junker or is it fixable.

Replace the bulb in the front signal, and the dash arrow will go out.
