ignition lock actuator rod
Part of this actuator is broken the mechanic told me it is a dealer part and that ford no longer makes it for a 1990 F150? He also said that there was no way to get it except a junk yard; so a steering column from a junk yard would be my best option. Does anyone know about the availability of this part? Ayers

I bought one about 3-4 months ago from the dealer. The parts guy knew immediately what part I was talking about. Sold me one and had about six more withing easy reach on the wall behind him. I got the impression these things are best sellers, surely Ford isn't so stupid as to stop producing a part so often needed in their trucks. If so, then I need to run down there and buy up all their remaining stock. Over the past couple of years I've already needed to buy three. And my trucks aren't getting any younger.
