Question Gooseneck hitch + crewcab???

I am considering purchasing a gooseneck equipment trailer (25', 20,000# GVWR, tandem dual). I have pulled gooseneck trailers with regular cab trucks and found it easy to connect the truck to the trailer since you can see the ball out the back window easily. I tried seeing the floor of the bed out of my crew cab, but found I could not see the area where the ball would be located. Is it difficult to hook up when visibility is limited? I know with my ball hitch trailers (can't see the ball or trailer tongue) hooking up is not problem.

Also was looking to add a Transfer Flow auxillary fuel tank and saw the "Wedge" model. Since I can't see a gooseneck ball in the bed of the crewcab anyway, is there a need to purchase the wedge tank or can I go with a standard retangular tank?

I hook my goose up to my crew cab all the time. It just takes some practice and knowing where your trailer is in relation with your truck. When your comfortable with your combo and can tell roughly where things are by looking in the mirrors it's not a problem. 4 out of 5 times I back in and drop the trailer onto the ball, blame the other time on "distractions"

Try wrapping one of those utility flags around the ball and have it stand up just at the front of the ball, you can see the flag and it's response when you bump it. TYhe flag has a wire base, so it will stand up nicely.
