Trans problems please help!!!!
I have a 1991 4x4 explorer, 4.0 with Auto trans.Well my woderful explorer is messing up again. nThis time its the trans. What happened was i was driving on the e-way and the tach statred moving up and down. the next day i tried to drive to the store and i made about a mile and it started to not move forward. it was like the clutch was not letting off between 1st and 2nd gear. the car just went up to about 5 grand without any forward movement.
I shut the car off anf pulled that battery cable off to reset the computer. A half hour later i fired it up again. and about a few block from there it started to do the same thing. one thing i did figure out though is that if i accelerated fast and kept the truck above 35 mph it would not have a problem. So i Just need to know if i can do anything with the trans or if the car is finally dead

Being a 91 explorer i am guessing it probility has around 150k miles on it and the trans it these trucks usually last around 100k and 175k.
i'm betting on either rebuiling the trans or getting a new one.
