like i keep saying the orignal owner didnt buy it off the showrooms floor he ordered it directly from the factory so, so he oculd put any engine in it, he chose the 352 interceptor
And your 68 should have come with a 360 or better as they discontinued the 352 with the 67 truck line... What are the first four digits of your VIN number (F25x) where "x" will be the engine displacement code. You will see a "y" for a 360 or a "h" for the 390.
I know the 352 PI had an alum 4v intake (I've got one and traced the numbers) In 1965 Ford offered a "white sale" might be wrong in terminology.. 4 dr Custom painted white with a 352 4v engine cast iron intake.
Well there was a 352 Police Interceptor Special, and a 352 Police Interceptor. The special boasted around 300 hp and the regular interceptor had around 235hp. Then again you had the HiPo 352 with 360 hp. This was in 1960. Kinda confusing lol In 1961 though they dropped the Interceptor name for a 352. So from 1958 until 60' the 352's were interceptors, just different versions. If it was in a Thunderbird, it was called a Thunderbird engine, until later on in the decade when any car could have a Thunderbird engine. I think Ford had alot of people confused back in the day.
The real 352 Police Interceptor was 375 HP. Any use of the name "Interceptor" in a stock car combined with a 352 after 1958 is just a stock engine with a fancy name. There was a stock 352 in the late 50s with 300 HP. It was not a Police Interceptor.
