Just curious how many miles were on your truck when you took delivery, weather it was ordered or from dealer stock. I had 10 miles on mine and it was an order.
4.2 miles, ordered. You have to understand that the "holding lots" outside of Norfolk and KS plants are HUGE, and often times they might even be a mile or 2 down the road. Each truck that rolls out of the plant will be assigned to a holding lot for shipment. Once it is loaded out at the plant it will arrive at the local distribution yard (aka ramp) again these lots can be enormus and the vehicle will be driven to a parking spot to await shipment to the dealership.
My truck came in with low mileage because of my dealers location to of all things a Toyota assembly plant. Allied car haulers haul directly from this YO-YO plant up to Norfolk to drop at another Allied distribution lot, upon returning to GA they bring back a load of F-150's from Norfolk. Not all vehicles are delievered this way, I just got lucky.
it was 2.7 until my dad took it on a 15 mile testdrive. we were brought to it at one of the back lots covered in dirt and dust. it was built at the beggining of the month so i think it was delivered and just sat back there for a while.
Mine had 2 miles on it. I am a tech at a Ford dealer. When any new vehicle comes in a tech has to predeliver it. Which means you check everything out on it and make sure it is built right before the customer gets it. You also test drive and check for noises and make sure everything works, even if it is ordered by a customer. It just depends on how much the tech drives it. I predelivered my own truck so nobody else drove it except the 2 miles. Its cool to predeliver your truck and get paid for it.
