Hey guys. Recently my Buick decided to die on me (Stupid GM...), and so now me an my dad are sharing the Explorer. It's a 2k XLT-Trim 4.0 Liter SOHC 4X2. Nothing really special. It's got 63K miles on it and it runs really well. Something I can't say for GM's vehicles... But recently i've been noticing that the SUV keeps using a lot more gas than it used to. You can step on the pedal and watch the gauge start to drop. I know gas gauges in general are very inaccurate, but it seems to be using a lot more gas than it used to. Any ideas on what may be causing this?
Also, this may be normal, but the accelerator pedal vibrates like crazy when you accelerate, and also, when acclerating, the engine makes a strange noise, almost like the sound of a generator powering up or something...I can't describe it. It's not a howl neccesarilly, but it's a strange sound, but it is faint. I dunno, it may be normal. Still, have to give props to Ford for building something that can actually take a beating... GM. I will never buy GM again
