460 Flywheel?
460 Flywheel?
Hi, ya'll. Its been a while since I've been able to get back to the site. Well anyway, the B/W 4 speed is in the garage nearly 100% cleaned painted and all seals redone. The clutch pedal and the wire for the 4x4 light are in the cab; The new center plate for the floorboard is cleaned and ready to get put in; and I have a Bell housing cleaned up and ready to go. I only need two things "that I don't currently have located" to put my 4 speed in and pull the C6 out. I need a FLYWHEEL for a 460, and I need the Bell Housing half of the pivot bracket, "for the clutch rod from the pedal". I have the mechaism, push rod, spring, and hardware to attach the bracket to the frame, but I don't have the piece that goes on the Bell Housing. Can anyone help me out on this?
Just so, I have a spare flywheel. I got a used motor cause mine blew a piston and the flywheel and clutch were still on it. I think it would be ok if it were turned down. There is some pitting where it looks like the guy maybe wore a clutch down too hard and didn't turn it down before or where maybe he slipped the clutch alot. Before I'd offer it as a good flywheel, I'd say that I better mic it to make sure it wasn't turned down too many times before. Interested? I'm in central Pa. You can also get a new flywheel from Carolina Clutch for about 144.00
If it's good.
If it's good I am interested. I am from Curwensville, over by Clearfield but I am in the Military currently in Va. I will be swinging home this weekend. Let me know how it is and whats the price.
I sent you a message via email. It miced at 1.138 I think. I'll double check it this afternoon. You may have to check with a Ford garage on the minimum thickness. Or maybe someone reading this post knows that info. Neither my Haynes or chilton manuals give that info. I can send some pics if you'd like.
