flame throwers Damage

Well i was thinking about using the old spark plug in the exhaust pipe trick for my '79 F-250 after i put a new exhaust system on it,and was wondering if it can hurt my truck in any way,and if not,how close to the end of the exhaust should i put it?...thanks..

I have a 73 model F 100 with a 460 and dual exhaust running straight out the back. My pipes run right under my fuel tank. Lets see flames and fuel.....nope...I think I'll pass.

they will not hurt it if you dont use them much. for them to work, you have to wash the cylinders down with raw gas. not my idea of a good thing, but as long as you dont do it very often it shouldnt hurt anything. just follow the directions and be carefull around the gas tank!

A friend says that if you put the spark plug 3 to 6"s away from the end of the the pipe it will be fine. And no it will not hurt it. Only thing it will hurt is someone standing behind you when you do it
