I am a frequent visitor of our local U-Pull-it yard and i happened across a 78 f-100 still bearing its 460 C6 running gear. I have a 460 in the garage but I decided to pull it to get the frame mounts for my '66 F-100. Here is what I got...
All the pulleys, alternator, p/s pump, motor mounts, frame mounts, (460) engine, (C6) transmission, linkages, transmission mount, and they even threw in a wiper arm. Here's the kicker: All that was $211 and the motor has good compression and looks pretty clean on the inside. I disassembled the transmission today and also looks pretty healthy inside although I'm gonna replace the soft parts inside. Not only that, I'll get 35 bucks back for the engine core and 25 bucks back for the old tranny. I thought it was a pretty good deal, so I shared. Stay tuned for my swap progress...
You gotta love them kind of finds!
When I converted my 71 Cutlass to 4bbl, I pulled the intake, bolts, fuel line, and vacuum fittings. All for 5 bucks. I always preer to pull my own parts when I can.
