1993 explorer not starting
I have a 1993 Ford Explorer Sort Edition with a V6 4.0L Engine. When attempting to start the vehicle, it cranks, but does not start. There is no spark to the plugs, and the wires have been tested and are good. The coil has also been tested and is good. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Are there any engine codes. If so, I would look where those point. That said, my first thought is the ignition module, or the wiring. On my '92, it would start sometimes, and sometimes it wouldn't. There were no codes associated with it. I changed the modue, and it started, so I thought I was home free. Then later it wouldn't start again. To shorten the stroy, after several months, I discovered a bad wiring connection in the harness plug that connected to the ignition module. I could wiggle the plug and it would crank. Replaced the plug with one from a junk yard (solder and shrink wrap all connections) and it's worked since then.

Are the fuel pumps running or not running in addition to no spark? Where the computer controls the spark, no power to the computer means no spark and no fuel pump, all of which means no start. There's a lot more to a "no spark" than the wires and coil. As mentioned there's the ignition module and the computer as well. Need to keep working backwards through the ignition until you find where the spark is lost.
