Someone once asked, if these chips and programs make such an improvement and don't damamge the engine, why doesn't Ford just sell them that way... I've heard many theories and answers pertaining to reduced stress, less warranty repairs etc...

You'd be surprised at how much Ford changes with just code. Heck, the only difference other than code with the 340 HP supercharged Harley F150 and the 380 HP supercharged Lightning is the code.
