I got a dynomax muffler on (no cat) my 84 f150 with a 300 i6. i wanna say the pipe is 2.5 but it might be 2 1/4...i used to have about a foot of straight pipe that exited under the bed with no muffler, and it sounded pretty mean. How will it sound now if i just took the muffler off and put pipe in it's place?

 

i did the same thing on my 86 but went fron a flowmaster to straight pipe is sounded good above 1800 rpm but below it wasnt that great what i.ve found sounds good is a straight exhaust (no cat no muffler ) all the way out with a dual outlet resonator tip made by either pacesetter or borla
