To pull or not to pull?

I have a 1980 F150 4X4 with a V8 302. I have pulled a 7,000 lb. wagon load of corn with no problems except it over-heated once. But I was wondering if I could take this truck to a Truck Pull at my county fair this year and enter it. Would it be too risky that something would break? Or does this truck have enough power?

If it is your daily driver, I would discourage entering a truck pull with it. I wouldn't want to risk breaking something if that truck is your bread and butter.

It's too risky, and if there's anything there from this decade, you'll lose anyway - trucks today come with almost twice the horsepower and torque and weigh less than your F150.
