ok my 87 F350 with a 6.9L uses over 1 quart per 100 miles, and it only uses oil on the drivers side 4 cylinders, i can tell cuz of dual exhaust it smokes blue only on deaccelerattion and driveing at low RPM's through town, ive noticed on the drivers side exhuast isnt as much exhaust pressure comeing out as the passenger side that doesnt use oil, anyone have any ideas, oil is expensive? thanks
My 6.9 was like, fill it up with oil and check the fuel.
When it got close to a gallon for 150 miles, I dropped a 6500 dollar reman 7.3 turbo motor in mine.
Oil is expensive, motors cost even more.
You may be able to pull the heads and get valve stem seals and guides replaced and help your problem.
The CDR valve may be where some of the oil is going.
Do you have any leaks?
