what size axle is in the 00-01 lightings? and what gear set? thanks

I'm pretty sure its a 9.75 with 4.10s.

It has a pretty tight limited slip on it too.

2000 came with stock 3.55 rear gearing ratio. Mustang was right, though, about the 9.75.

Most performance enthusiasts have modified rear end gears to 3.73.

99 & 2000's came with a 3.55 gear set and the 01 and up have 3.73's installed in them. There is a tag on all of the housings that will say what ratio is installed. All have 9.75 ring gear sizes.
