Fuel Cap Light

Today I filled up the X and left it running and the fuel cap lightcame on. I know... Bad move.... At any rate, How do I get it to go off? I did what the manual said and shut it off, installed the cap the correct way and restarted it.
The freakin light is still on..... Shoud I reset the computer or will it go away?

My friend did the same thing in his expedition. It eventually went away. I suppose that if you disconnected the battery, it would reset the codes in the computer, but I'm not sure.
