Question Stabilization bar???

Hi guys, recently I was having a look under a friend's Bronco and I notice a bar going from side to side and there is also one more at rear axel. This is a Stabilization bar???

My F150 1986 doesn't have any, I want know how important is it? will be good idea upgrade my truck installing those bars? seems to be not too difficult...

Any comments???

The stabilizer (or anti-sway) bars are there to reduce body roll when going around curves in the road. The rear one is usually there on duallies and other heavier duty trucks to control the weight of a load in the back of the truck such as a slide in camper. The factory units usually work good for this when the bushings are in good shape. I have them front and rear on my F350 and had them on my Chevy dually too. My old 3/4 ton Chevy had one in the front only. Most trucks and cars have them in the front. If you are happy with the way your truck handles on the road, there's no need to put them on. If you feel you would like to have one, a company named Helwig makes aftermarket kits for most trucks.

Well, my truck was recently upgrade to 4X4 so the only think I need is get a bar from a yard, everithing else is installed on truck. This bar will cost lest than 15 or 20 $ so I can instal one in front just to test...
