No, you don't need X-Plan. Tell all your local dealers that you can buy any new Ford on FTE for $200 BELOW invoice ($500 below for 2005 Super-Duty), and you're giving them the opportunity to match it. You won't need a PIN, and you'll save yourself 4 hours of needless negotiating.
Thanks for the info, however, am I correct in the assumption that FTE can aquisition
a 2004 Lightning for less than the $30,100 (x-plan price) that the local dealer that I
have been buying from the past 20+ years quoted? With out having to come to NY
to get the truck? Say this is so, and shoot me the email and we are good to go!

There's the problem: We can sell you a Lightning for a lot less than that ($28961, to be exact), but you would have to travel to Western New York to get it.
Well, that is a most inticing price! You must be including (reducing) the x-plan price
utilizing the $1k "marketing support" that Ford is giving to Dealers on the Lightning.
Question, can I expect that my local dealer will also reduce the price in the same
manner that I believe you have done? What is your opinion?
Some minor logistics, we have been dealing with the same salesman for 20+ years,
purchased 5 Mustang GT's, 3 Cobra's, and a Bullet and he has always been upfront
on any/all incentives,.
Thanks for your opinion (in advance of course).
Oh and by the by, should my opening statement be in error, you may just see me
in the next week to get that Black Lightning you have.

You're right- we always pass on any dealer incentives we get. As to whether your local dealer will, that's entirely up to him. Dealer cash can be used any way the dealer wants.

Black? Who said it was black? This one's bright red!
