where do u mount speakers
Stereo head unit can be mounted under the dash in a prefabricated box and integrated to look good.
I made 'new' door access panels out of thin MDF and mounted mid-ranges there, and put the matching tweeters (they were component speakers) on the corners of my dash pad. The head unit I installed in the glove box with a universal DIN mounting box, so it's pretty much invisible when the cover is closed...and the remote aleviates any need to lean over and adjust the controls!
I also mounted a 12" sub behind my seat in it's box, and placed two amplifiers under the seat.
I had the option of mounting the stereo under the dash, but I was too concerned that it would be very noticable there. When someone peeks into the ol' girl now...all they see is a 66 truck...nothing worth stealing!
If you want, check out the pics in my gallery, as I should have them up tonight.

I believe that most systems stolen are by people who already know the truck has a good system installed. They hear it going down the road and will track the vehicle in order ot steal it. Nothing beats a good remote alarm system for scaring off thieves.
If you alarm goes off, they have most likely already gained entrance to the vehicle but you can at least stop them from ripping up your truck. You'll be out a window glass or less if your lucky.
