Woohoo!!
The ride there and back was awesome ... she cruised at 70 just great. A little noisy from the wind blowing in through both open windows, but that's to be expected.

The gathering was pretty nice too, although I only saw four old pickup trucks (counting my own) before I left. One was a '30s Ford pickup that had been hot-rodded. I don't remember for sure, but I believe it had a Chevy engine.
The only other Ford truck I saw was a '51 F1 that also had an "upgraded" drivetrain. The last pickup truck was a '54 Chevy that parked next to me. It was very nice, all stock, and the owner was a nice guy too.I think all the other vehicles there were cars, unless you count the El Camino with the suspension lift.
Some of the highlights were a black '51 Mercury with a chromed-out flathead and original Three on the Tree, a '57 T-Bird (the owner just kind of gloomily and silently acknowledged that it wasn't the original engine, as he was waxing it), a few nice vintage Mustangs, etc. There were also some very nice Chevy cars that you probably don't want to hear about.
Oh, and I think my truck was the dirtiest vehicle there.
All in all, it was a great time, but I was disappointed by the poor showing of Ford trucks. I'll have to post about this in the NY Chapter board and see what happens next week.
