FYI: Through 7 states the price per gal. ranged from 1.69.9 to 1.59.9 with Texas fuel being the highest...Go figure.

Well...can't remmeber RPM @ 70 MPH because we were never on 70 long. At 78/79 MPH she was humming along about 2250 RPM
On that note I'd agree with Tim. 16 mpg at close to 80 is pretty darn good. Afterall, this ain't your sisters truck, it's real one.

I guess my main point isn't so much what I'm getting 'cause...I love the truck anyway.

It's more the variance regarding other mileage reports/comparison. My cousin has an '03 CC longbed dually (no problems BTW) and is getting 15/16 in town.

Funny...if the general concensous was 12 city 16 hywy we would lose a quarter of our threads.

yep, and she likes it but it doesnt see the high side of 75mph very often. 75=2850

35,000lbs is pretty hard to whoa at 80, even with the prodigy, 8 sets of brakes, and 14 tires

Roger that! Stopping is a wonderful thing as long as it is not all at once.

35,000 lbs. whew...I'd have baaaad dreams with all that.

up to 37,500!!!

but it doesnt bother ya after a while

it just pushes u around a little bit on rough roads. u just take off the rear view mirror, and DRIVE.

is that 35,000 load weight or gross weight

EXACTLY with the aerodynamic properties of a show box at 80…..
TnMac you are constantly saying that is not good well run the test back to back.. same hills, same wind, same driving style, same fuel, same top off procedures, same oil, same oil level, same idle time, same load, same ambient air temp, same air density altitude, same food stops same pee breaks, same acceleration curve form stop, same sustained top speed, same lateral g forces in a corner, same lateral wind loading,…….same… same… same… same…..there are only 1267 other factors/variables that can and WILL affect MPG

And by the way I do not care what Ford or anyone says or writes about MPG until you can perform a scientific test and control all the parameters and the methodology of the testing.....I can legitimately say the MPG is OK/appropriate ... more than anyone can say it is not good.

This is not an attack on anyone or their beliefs it is about REAL world testing and NOT what a bunch of corporate folks say to sell trucks.

doubt u can with the ol 7.3.... nothin pulls like our big 6'ers!!!!
