What blocks can i use?
I have a 77 f250 4x4 with a 400 in it. i have thrown a rod and am wondering what other engines i could use. Im trying to avoid having to change flywheels, or any clutch mods. is there any other engine i can use that would be a straight bolt in besides another 400? id like to go with another 400, but cant find one right now, at least not cheap enough. a buddy has a 429 he would let me use, but i would need about 500 dollars worth of clutch crap. any help would be appreciated. thanks

You can use the 351m or 400 from any year, you can also use the 429 with your transmission and the 429 flywheel. You will also need more than 500 worth of clutch part's. Exhaust, all bracket's, and motor mount's.
