I have one of these that has apparently gone bad. Sad part is, it is intermittent, and when it doesn't work, it will drain the battery because the overhead light stays on. So right now I have removed the bulb from the overhead light and turned the cargo area light off. THIS SUCKS! Any tips or tricks to figuring out which one it is. I would of course suspect the drivers door but I am not sure.
May not be bad, just sticky. Spray WD-40 liberally into the door latch, which also houses the light switch, and cycle the door a few times. This works about 99% of the time.
THANK YOU!!!! I borrowed my dads 98 mazda, and the sensor was stuck! It dinged FOREVER!!!! And my dad had just simply removed the bulbs to keep the battery from draining, so i sprayed a bunch of wd40 in there, and on the first slap, it shut off! THanks FTE!!!
